French Tip

I think a French tip manicure is elegant and classy, but it can also be very fun if you experiment with different colors on the tip. I was gifted this light blue nail polish by my bf a while back. It is called Blue Orchid and is from the brand Deborah Lippmann. I was very exited to receive this nail polish, because I have always wanted to try a Deborah Lippmann nail polish.

I used the color Blue Orchid on the tips and Sparitual Wellness on the whole nail. Wellness is a sheer light pink color. You don't have to use a blue color on the tip like I did, you can experiment with other colors like; pink, purple, yellow, orange and lime green.

The French tip tapes I used you can find in most drugstores. I know Essence sells a pretty cheap one.

Have a great week!

When in doubt wear stripes!

When in doubt wear stripes!
Stripes are classy, easy to wear and you can find clothes with stripes at most stores.
If you buy a piece of clothing with stripes it's not likely to go out of style.
I have been wearing stripes since I was 12 and it is still in style!

Wherever I don't know what to wear, I find myself grabbing this striped top I'm wearing in the pictures below. This top has been with me for two years and I still wear it. I usually don't wear a hat with it, but for some reason I was inspired by the Gondola in Venice. I wish that wearing this outfit would magically transport me to Venice, where I could sit on a bench overlooking the river and eating pasta. Hopefully one day this wish will come true? Maybe even share a Gondola ride with a loved one?

What I am wearing: Black pants from H&M, Striped top from F21, Hat from Zara, Pearl earrings (that was a birthday gift when I turned 18). Lastly my shoes are from Aldo.

What is your favorite striped item that you own?

Hope you have a great Thursday !

Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream

Since the weather has been nice and it is Summer, I decided to make Matcha Ice Cream.
It is pretty easy to make.
This ice cream is not only yummy but it is healthy!
Matcha is packed with antioxidants, and boost your metabolism to help burn calories. It is rich in fiber and provides your body with vitamin C and Zinc.

How to make Green Tea Ice Cream :

  •  Matcha powder ( 1 1/2 to 3 teaspoons depending on how strong you like it. If you make it too strong, you can add more milk in later )

  •  Vanilla almond milk / or Vanilla Soy milk ( 2 cups )

  • Shredded coconut ( half a cup )

  • Maple syrup or Agave ( a few tablespoons, depends how sweet you want the ice cream)

  • Pistachio nuts ( that you crush so you can sprinkle it on top of the ice cream later)

1.  Add all the ingredients except the nuts in a blender, or mix by hand.

2.  Pour the ingredients into a container you can freeze. Put the container in the freezer.

3.  Take out from the freezer every 40 min to stir - so that the ice cream will become thick.

4. When it looks like ice cream it is ready to serve. Add whatever toppings you like.
Pistachio nuts taste amazing just saying :)

How the mixture looks like before you freeze it. It will become thicker for every hour you take it out, and stir it!
How the ice cream looks when it is ready to be eaten :) I topped it with nuts.

What's your favorite way to cool down in the Summer?

Have a good Wednesday !

Summer Days

This weekend was great! I went to a barbeque with friends. We grilled hot dogs. I grilled veggie hot dogs. For dessert we grilled banana with chocolate while we listen to Summer songs. Yummy! Banana and chocolate taste amazing when the banana has been caramelized by the heat of the barbeque. You should all try it if you have the chance!!

Sunday I spent my time doing laundry, cleaning and food shopping. A typical Sunday.
I bought strawberries, oranges and bananas. I love making a fruit salad during the week.
Fruits and berries are my favourite food during Summer, and I could eat them all day!

For my outfit I wore a pink dress. The dress I wore has a thin fabric so it was perfect for the hot Summer day. I wore a shorts under to cover up. I also wore my white knit jacket, just in case it would get cold.

What I am wearing: A pink dress shirt from H&M. I am wearing a shorts under. The dress is longer in the back so it's not as short as it looks in the pictures. I am wearing a heart necklace and white knit jacket both from F21. My shoes are from Aldo, and my bag from Claire's.

How was your weekend?

I hope you have an great week!

One Dress - Tom Boy Look

Today is the last day of the One Dress posts. I decided to wear my fake leather jacket, my converse shoes and a silver necklace. The leather jacket gives the dress a more cool vibe. The shoes makes the outfit more tom boyish, and the necklace add some detail to the basic dress.

I hope these One Dress blog post gave you some inspiration on how you can change your outfit with accessories.
It's not always about how many clothes you own, but how you can style what you have differently.
I think having a few basic items in your wardrobe (like plain t-shirts, dresses, skirts) will allow you to use what you have instead of buy something new.

What I am wearing: Dress from Banana Republic. Jacket from Free People. Necklace from F21, and Converse shoes.

I wish you a good weekend!

One Dress - Everyday Casual

I am wearing the same dress as yesterday. This time I decided to change my jacket into a khaki  jacket from H&M. The jacket is loose so it gives a relaxed look.
I added a blue necklace to give the outfit some color.
I think this look works for an everyday situation.

Also when I first bought this jacket it had fake jewels on the pockets. I cut them off because it was too much glitter for my taste. There are always ways you can be creative and change an item.
If you don't like something think of a way to fix it. If you buy a white dress but get tired of the color, try to dye it a different color, or cut it into a t-shirt. Be creative.

What I am wearing: Dress Banana Republic, Shoes Aldo, Necklace a gift, Jacket H&M

What style are you?

Hope you have a good Thursday!

One Dress - Cute Look

I decided to use one dress for the next three blog posts, but style it differently.
I wanted to do this to show that you don't need all the clothes in the world to dress nicely.
You can mix and match with different accessories to create different looks.
This dress is basic so it is easily transformed with different jackets, shoes and necklaces.
Sometimes having basic items in your wardrobe is important, because it allows you to create more looks.

For the first look I decided to put a sheer black blouse over the dress for a classy look. I added a silver bracelet and tiny ear rings to keep the look clean. I also added my "fancy" purse to add to the classy and simple look.

What I am wearing : Dress from Banana Republic. Banana Republic is a good place to get staple pieces for your closet. This dress was originally $190, then it was on sale for $90, then it was half price of sales so I got it for $45 (a good deal in my eyes). My blouse is from Only. My shoes are from Aldo again on sale for $15.

- What is your best bargain piece?

I hope you have a great day!

Date Milk as a morning/afternoon treat

A few years ago I started eating dates. I would eat them as snacks or a treat with my tea at night, or make raw chocolate balls with them.
I like Medjool dates because they are very sweet.
Lately however I have been using them to make Date Milk.
Date milk is very creamy and it has a caramel taste to it.
I love a foamy drink!
I usually make this drink in the morning as a replacement for coffee, or in the afternoon.
Dates are high in calories so you should not eat too many, however they are a fat free food.
They have B-6 Vitamin, they help the red blood cells in your body, the nervous system and digestive system.
I love the energy this drink offers.

How to make Date Milk :

1) You will need a blender.
2) Take out the seed in 5-15 dates (I usually use 6)
3) Add your dates to the blender.
4) Add some vanilla soy or almond milk.
5) Add some water and ice cubes.
6) Blend till smooth in blender.
7) Strain if you want extra smooth milk :)

If you try it out, let me know what you think? Also if you have made date milk before how do you make it?

- Have a wonderful day!

What to wear to work ? - Skirt Edition-

I like to be more dressed up for work, because it makes me feel better. It makes me feel like I can handle any work task better. There is nothing worse than to show up for work and feel underdressed or that you don't fit in.
The best tip I can give you is to look around your workplace and study what other people are wearing. "What is your boss wearing?" "What is your colleagues wearing?" Then try to dress similar, but put your own spin on it. Dress in your favorite colors or add your own personality with the accessories you wear.
Black blouse with a black top under from H&M, Grey skirt also from H&M, Shoes from Aldo, Bag bought at Winners but brand Ralph Lauren and bracelet from F21.

What is your dream job?

The Trench

I recently invested in a trench coat. The reason I say invest is because they are a bit more expensive, but on the plus side they have a classic shape that never seem to go out of style. I got mine at Gap.

The nice thing about a trench coat is that it dresses up whatever you wear. A trench coat is perfect to pair with jeans and a sweater, a dress or a skirt under.
This day I went for a grey skirt and a black top, because it was pretty warm out.

What I am wearing: Grey skirt from F21, black top from H&M, trench from Gap, and my favorite shoes from Ronsons. I wear these shoes a lot because they are comfy, and they are perfect for the nice weather.

What are your favorite style when wearing a trench coat?

Hope you have a stylish and happy weekend!
